With so many buttstocks on the market today…how do you know which one is best for

you? The following Mil-Spec Magpul stocks have been broken down by weight. The lightest is on top. The heaviest at the bottom. The weight of a buttstock can alter how a gun functions, feels and performs.

Magpul MOE Carbine Stock – Mil-Spec

-The Magpul MOE Carbine Stock – Mil-Spec Model (MAG400) is Magpul's most popular buttstock. It is often found on OEM (original equipment manufacturers) weapons and is widely adopted as an upgrade over a factory buttstock. The MOE Carbine stock is adjustable and fits on a Mil-Spec carbine receiver extension often called a buffer tube.

Magpul MOE Fixed Carbine Stock – Mil-Spec

-The Magpul MOE Fixed Carbine Stock– Mil-Spec Model (MAG480) provides a fixed, non-collapsing stock option for mil-spec size carbine-length buffer tubes. The MOE Fixed Carbine Stock has a slim profile, improved cheek weld, and multiple sling attachment options (quick disconnect (QD) or attach directly with 1 ¼” webbing), and is compatible with the ASAP Plate and PRS Extended Rubber Butt Pad. Installation is non-armorer and does not require the castle nut or lock plate to be removed. Simply slide the old buttstock off and slide on the new MOE Fixed Carbine buttstock

Magpul MOE SL Carbine Stock – Mil-Spec

-The MOE SL Stock – Mil-Spec Model (MAG347) is a drop-in replacement buttstock for AR15/M4 carbines using mil-spec sized receiver extension tubes. Designed for the modern battlefield, the sleek profile, dual-side release latches, rolled toe, and angled rubber butt-pad is optimized for use with body armor or modular gear and provides for efficient shoulder transitions. The MOE SL buttstock has multiple sling attachment options (quick disconnect (QD) or directly attach 1 ¼” webbing), and is compatible with the ASAP, ASAP QD and other receiver-mount sling attachments.

Magpul CTR Carbine Stock – Mil-Spec

-The Magpul CTR (Compact/Type Restricted) – Mil-Spec Model (MAG 310) is a drop-in replacement buttstock for AR15/M16 carbines using mil-spec sized receiver extension tubes. Designed for light, fast action the streamlined A-frame profile avoids snagging and shields the release latch to prevent accidental activation. The CTR also features a supplemental friction lock system that minimizes excessive stock movement for enhanced weapon stability and an ambidextrous QD sling mount that will accept any push-button sling swivel. The Mil-Spec Model includes a standard 0.30" rubber butt-pad which provides positive shoulder purchase to prevent slippage even with body armor or modular gear.

Magpul STR Carbine Stock – Mil-Spec

-The Magpul STR – Mil-Spec (MAG470) (Storage/Type Restricted) is a drop-in replacement buttstock for AR15/M16 carbines using mil-spec sized receiver extension tubes. A storage-capable version of the CTR, the STR has improved cheek weld and two water resistant battery tubes on a compact, reinforced polymer A-frame design.
A shielded operation lever and supplemental friction locking system prevent accidental operation and minimize excessive stock movement for enhanced weapon stability and accuracy. The STR incorporates two integral sling loops, a reversible push-button QD sling mount, and a replaceable 0.30" rubber butt-pad which provides positive shoulder purchase to prevent slippage even with body armor or modular gear.

Magpul ACS-L Carbine Stock – Mil-Spec

-The Magpul ACS-L (MAG378) (Adaptable Carbine Stock - Light) is a drop-in replacement buttstock for AR15/M16 carbines using mil-spec sized receiver extension tubes. A streamlined version of the ACS, the ACS-L utilizes the same center storage compartment and cheek weld but removes the battery tubes for a slimmer, lighter weight package. Includes reversible QD Swivel Sling Mount and 1” slip loops. Supplemental friction lock minimizes accuracy robbing wobble. Premium chrome-silicon lock spring provides positive locking and long service life.

Magpul ACS Carbine Stock – Mil-Spec

-The patented Magpul ACS (MAG370) (Adaptable Carbine/Storage) – Mil-Spec Model is a drop-in replacement buttstock for AR15/M16 carbines using mil-spec sized receiver extension tubes. A streamlined, anti-snag profile shields the release latch to prevent accidental activation. Similar to the Magpul CTR, the ACS also features a supplemental friction lock system that minimizes excessive stock movement for enhanced weapon stability and accuracy. Dual, rear accessible, water-resistant battery storage tubes and an integral storage compartment in the butt of the stock provides multiple storage options. The ACS comes standard with a 0.30" thick rubber butt-pad which provides positive shoulder purchase to prevent slippage even with body armor or modular gear. There are two water-resistant battery storage tubes on the left and right sides of the stock. There is also a flip open storage compartment.

Mapgul MOE Rifle Stock

-The MOE Rifle Stock (MAG404) (Magpul Original Equipment) is a drop-in replacement for AR15/M16 A1 and A2 rifle stocks utilizing the standard rifle-length receiver extension (buffer tube). Designed as a basic upgrade, the stock features integral 1.25" sling loop, optional dual-side front and rear QD mounting points, replaceable anti-slip rubberized butt-pad, and large internal storage compartment accessible through the rear storage door.

NOTE: The MOE Rifle Stock is a direct replacement for an A1 or A2 fixed stock. Fitting to a carbine with a collapsible stock will require a rifle-length receiver extension tube (weight cited includes stock with rifle receiver extension), rifle buffer and spring (not included).

Magpul UBR Collapsible Stock

-The Magpul UBR (MAG330) (Utility / Battle Rifle), is a fully-featured, adjustable buttstock for the AR15/M16. Unlike typical collapsing stocks, this modular design offers the stability of a fixed stock with consistent cheek weld in any position. Seven-position length-of-pull (LOP) adjustment is quickly executed with gross motor movement while the integral preset system allows direct access to a preferred position. A robust lock mechanism and multi-shell construction increase durability under severe impact conditions experienced during malfunction clearing and accommodates large-bore AR calibers with ease. The UBR also provides extra counterbalance weight to improve handling on full-length rifles and weapons with muzzle-heavy accessories or bull-barrels. Optional components such as dual-side sling mounts and metal strike plate allow the UBR to adapt to the mission at hand.

NOTE: The UBR includes the necessary Entry-Length Receiver Extension tube (weight cited with included Entry-Length tube) and all mounting hardware. An M4 carbine buffer and spring are required for use with the UBR and are not included.
7.62x51 ARs may require the use of a custom short buffer and spring.

Magpul PRS Precision-Adjustable Stock – AR15/M16 (5.56x45) Model

-The Magpul PRS (MAG307) (Precision Rifle/Sniper) – AR15/M16 Model is a drop-in, precision-adjustable butt stock for rifles with A1/A2 fixed stocks. Designed to offer the fine-tuned, customized feel of a precision target stock, the PRS is adjustable for both comb height and length-of-pull without sacrificing the durability necessary to withstand the operational environment. Compared to the A2 stock, the PRS can shorten LOP by .25" or extend it by .75" as well as provide three-quarters of an inch of comb height adjustment. Machined aluminum adjustment knobs feature positive-locking click detents to maintain position under recoil and allows easy, tool-less adjustments by simply rotating the knobs. Aluminum butt-plate and alloy steel adjustment shafts provide stability and strength to withstand severe impact conditions. Rubber butt-pad offers positive shoulder purchase to prevent slippage for optimal accuracy even with body armor or modular gear. Bottom Picatinny-type rail allows for monopod use, additional sling mounts or storage. Stock includes all mounting hardware for A1/A2 type rifles with fixed stock.
